Pop-Up Spotlight

Sabad Modest Wear is a small business based out of Ottawa specializing in stylish and contemporary modest clothing. They offer a wide range of elegant abayas, chic hijabs, and fashionable dresses that celebrate modesty but with a modern twist. Here's a glimpse into the success they found as a Pop-Up tenant at St. Laurent Centre.

Sabad Modest Wear made their first appearance into shopping mall retail in the spring of 2024, with a brief 13-day pop-up. The brand's distinct and trendy offerings rapidly drew the attention of customers. And that convinced Fadumo Abdillahi, the owner of Sabad Modest Wear, that this was a good place to have her store.

This initial pop-up shop success resulted in a 7-month lease renewal, allowing them to keep operating at St. Laurent Centre and expanding their consumer base. Their ongoing success prompted a second lease renewal, this time for one year!
